robots.txt
A text file placed behind the scenes on your website that tells web crawlers and other web robots which pages on your website to ignore. Pages that are ignored will not be indexed by search engines. Example: If you have two versions of a web page – one for normal viewing and one for printing – you probably want robots to ignore the printable version so you won’t be penalized for duplicate content.
