Integration Agent Installation Instructions

Overview

The Integration Agent (IA) allows you to leverage your NCR Counterpoint data with NCR Retail Online (NRO). During the install, a new service is added along with several files and folders. Prior to installing the IA, verify you meet the Minimum Requirements necessary in order to effortlessly integrate your NCR Counterpoint data with NRO.
 
Please note:  If you are currently using Customer Connect and/or Smart Alerts, the Integration Agent is already installed and you can skip this step.  You will need to jump to NRO Connection Configuration.

Installation Instructions

WARNING: Before installing the Integration Agent, please remove all CPTOCPOL-###.txt files from your Ecommerce directory (CPOnline folder). To do so, follow these steps:
  1. In Counterpoint, navigate to Setup / Ecommerce / Control.
  2. From the main tab of the ecommerce control file, click the hyperlink in the field labeled Ecommerce Directory. This will open your CPOnline folder.
  3. Either completely delete all of the CPTOCPOL-###.txt, or archive them to a sub-folder.
  4. The Integration Agent must be installed on the C:\ drive of the server where Counterpoint is installed.. Installing the software on a different local drive will cause the Company Editor on Step 11 to not populate correctly. 

TIP: It's a good idea to routinely delete those publish files and then empty your computer's recycle bin. It is not necessary to keep those files for more than two weeks. Anything older than two weeks can be deleted.

  1. To install the Integration Agent (IA) you'll need the RadiantIntegrationAgent.msi file. Click on the .msi file to download it and follow the steps below for assistance.
  2. To determine where to install these files, please log in to NCR Counterpoint and navigate to Setup / System / Registration. If the Multi-Site option is selected, you are a Multi-Site store. If it's not selected, you are a Single Site or WAN store.
    • Multi-Site stores: Must run the IA on the Hub system ONLY.
    • Single Site or WAN stores: Must run the IA on the NCR Counterpoint server ONLY.

    If you have questions regarding where to install the IA, please contact support at Support.RetailApps@ncr.com.

  3. Copy the RadiantIntegrationAgent.msi file to the appropriate location, depending on what was discovered on #2 above.
  4. If not logged in as the administrator, log in as the administrator now. Navigate to the location of RadiantIntegrationAgent.msi and double click on the file.
    TIP: If .NET 4.0 is already installed on your system, skip steps 5 & 6 and proceed to step 7 below.
    If .NET 4.0 is not installed, the following window will be displayed:


  5. Select Yes, to be redirected to Microsoft's website to download and install .NET 4.0 Framework.

    WARNING: Depending on your OS, you may need to reboot your system after the .NET 4.0 Framework installation is complete. In the event that you are not redirected, copy and paste the following link into your browser to follow Microsoft's procedures to download and install .NET 4.0 Framework. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17113
  6. Repeat step 4 above to relaunch the .MSI to install the Integration Agent.
  7. The Radiant Integration Agent Setup Wizard begins, select Next >.
     

  8. Use the default folder listed and select Next >.

    TIP: If you must change the location, select the Browse button to choose a new folder.
    To view the amount of space available on your drive(s) select Disk Cost.


  9. Select Next > to continue the installation process.
     

  10. The Radiant Integration Agent installation displays a status window as it begins.
     

  11. Next, the Company Editor is displayed. Select your Top Level Directory and Company Alias and select Save.

    TIP: If you don't know your Top Level Directory, log in to NCR Counterpoint and navigate to System / Views / Environment and click on the Identification tab.



  12. A File Saved window appears when the companies.xml file is created. Select OK to continue.
     

  13. When the Installation Complete message appears, select Close to exit.
     

  14. Several tasks occur in the background after installing the IA. In the meantime, review the email you received including your NRO credentials. Log in to the NRO Admin Panel using the User Name and Password provided in the email. The following steps will guide you through the process of changing your password for your Integration Agent User:
    • Select System > Web Services > SOAP-XML-RPC-Users
    • Click on the user, Counterpoint_IA, and enter a new password in the New API Key field. Enter the same key in the API Key Confirmation field.
    • Click Save User, found on the top right side of the page. When complete, proceed with the step below.
  15. To complete your setup of NRO, run the NRO Connection Configuration.
