Changing the Title Bar Text On Category and Item Detail Pages

Purpose:
 
This article will explain how to change the title bar text that appears in the bar across the top of a web browser. The title element of a web page is meant to be an accurate and concise description of a page's content. This element creates value in three specific areas (covered below) and is critical to both user experience and search engine optimization.
 
 
Solution:
 
On the item level:
  1. Select Catalog (horizontal top menu) / Manage Products.
  2. Find the item for which you are wanting to edit the Page Title.
  3. Under Product Information (left side panel), click on the General tab.

On the category level:

  1. Select Catalog (horizontal top menu) / Manage Categories.
  2. Find the category for which you are wanting to edit the Page Title.
  3. Go to the General Information tab and edit the field labeled, Page Title.
  4. Save your changes.
