Account Login Page Message

Summary:

If you wish to change the message on the Account Login page, you can utilize inline translation to customize the default text according to your needs. See Changing Labels throughout your Storefront. Note that you are limited to 256 characters with the Inline Translation tool. If you need to add more characters, or if you need to include images, links, and other HTML, try this:

Solution:

1)      Select CMS / Static Blocks to create static block with desired content that will be added to the Account Login page.

<div id="account-new">Enter text here</div>

2)      Select CMS / Widgets to add the new static block to the "Customer Account Login Form” in the "Main Content Area”. Learn more about creating static blocks and widgets here.

3)      By default, this will attach the content to the bottom of the Account Login page, underneath the New Customer (first column) and Registered Customers (second column)

4)      In many cases, you may wish to move the content to either the first or second column. This can be accomplished by adding a jquery snippet of code to the static block created in step 1

a.       To move your new static block to the left column (underneath New Customers), add this to the code view of the static block:
<!-- MOVE DIV TO DISPLAY IN FIRST COLUMN -->
<script>
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
jQuery('#account-new').appendTo('.col-1')
});
</script>

b.      To move your new static block to the right column (underneath Registered Customers), add this to the code view of the static block:
<!-- MOVE DIV TO DISPLAY IN SECOND COLUMN -->
<script>
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
jQuery('#account-new').appendTo('.col-2')
});
</script>

For example, to add the message, "Please call (800) 555-1234 for more information” to the left column of the Account Login page, the code view of your static block would look like:

<div id="account-new"><span style="font-size: 24px; color: red">Please call (800) 555-1234 for more information</span></div>

<!-- MOVE DIV TO DISPLAY IN FIRST COLUMN -->
<script>
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
jQuery('#account-new').appendTo('.col-1')
});
</script>
